Middleton :

I got a little anxious, of course, when I saw the rookies who were my teammates during Summer League – Kim English and Andre Drummond and Kyle Singler – sign contracts when I hadn’t. I wanted to come up here and get some work in and find a place to get settled. I enjoyed being back home and working hard while I was down there, but it was a delay. I just tried to work out and make it work.
I left that all up to my agent. I knew he was going to do what was best for me, so I stayed home and was working out mostly by myself with my high school coach – I lifted weights, tried to do some light conditioning to stay in shape and did a whole bunch of work on the floor – so I would be prepared to come up here when it got done.
I worried about falling behind, of course, knowing those guys were up here a couple of weeks ahead of me. They know what they’re doing when they come in every day. They already have their routines set and now I’m trying to figure out my routine.

Center Slava Kravtsov was dominant with 13 points on 6-for-7 shooting and six blocked shots as the host Ukraine held off Hungary, 77-71, during the first day of the tournament at Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine.

The Ukraine won its second game of qualifying -- a 61-57 victory over Austria on Saturday. Kravtsov scored two points, but he grabbed five rebounds and had three blocked shots.

Pistons veteran Jonas Jerebko erupted for 26 points, but Sweden fell to host Bulgaria, 78-73, in Group B.

Pistons sign Khris Middleton to bring the roster to 15 .. He's in Auburn Hills and working out.

Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:

Palace Sports & Entertainment president Dennis Mannion said Detroit Pistons jerseys “most probably” will have small sponsorship patches in the future. The NBA signaled last month that — pending formal league approval — it will allow small patches on the upper left part of jerseys.
“The ilk of sponsor that you could attract is typically very big consumer marketers, and they help you with your brand,” Mannion said. “So I think we are doing an OK job here in the Detroit metro area with the Pistons brand, (but) there are sponsors out there that can take you to a whole new level and other markets, and that’s exciting.”

‘Jerebko? Do you want me to talk about Jerebko?”. That’s what LeBron James asked a Swedish reporter when he surfaced a question about Pistons forward Jonas Jerebko, the lone Swedish player in the NBA. James had glowing things to say about the Swedish national team member.
“Jerebko’s a good player. No, I mean, he’s a really good player. He’s doing so much for his team,” James said. “He can play at different positions, he’s good at rebounds, he’s good in defense. He’s already a shining star in Detroit. And he is just going to get better and better.”

Greg Monroe, Jonas Jerebko, Jason Maxiell, Charlie Villanueva, Andre Drummond, Slava Kravtsov, Tayshaun Prince, Corey Maggette, Austin Daye, Kyle Singler, Rodney Stuckey, Brandon Knight, Will Bynum and Kim English all have signed contracts for next season. Khris Middleton has not yet officially signed, but Pistons management made it clear in the wake of the draft and again following the conclusion of Summer League that it was their intention to have Middleton on the roster for the 2012-13 season. I have no reason to believe there has been a change of plans on either side. Of course, until a contract is signed, there is always a chance it won’t be. Even if Middleton does not sign – again, no reason to believe that will happen – the greater need for the Pistons would appear to be a fifth guard rather than a seventh big man. But there is still plenty of time for roster adjustments via the trade market – three months until rosters need to be trimmed to 15 in time for the late-October season opener. There’s at least as much of a chance that the Pistons will make a trade or two to tweak the roster than there is that those 15 names I’ve listed will be the team that breaks training camp.

Chad Ford of ESPN:

Key additions: Andre Drummond (draft), Corey Maggette (trade), Vyacheslav Kravtsov (FA), Khris Middleton (draft), Kim English (draft)
Key subtractions: Ben Gordon

The Pistons finally got their big man. Whether he is the next Dwight Howard or Kwame Brown is anyone’s guess.
Drummond looks the part of an NBA superstar. He is huge and super athletic and looks like the perfect complement to Greg Monroe on the front line. He is also very raw, and the word out of Detroit already is patience. Long term, adding Drummond could be the move that puts the Pistons over the top. Or not. The talent is there, but there are legitimate questions about the heart.
The Pistons also found a taker for the remaining two years and $25 million of Gordon’s contract. Trading for Maggette was more about salary-cap relief than basketball. That trade should guarantee the Pistons significant cap room next summer to make another addition.
Overall, the Pistons moves shouldn’t have a major impact on the court this season, but the seeds are being sown for a robust harvest down the road.

24. Kim English, Pistons
Didn’t get as many opportunities to showcase his game as I would have liked, but he was lights out from three-point range and did a nice job playing off his teammates. There will be some games where he makes a very small impact because his teammates don’t find him, but when they did, he generally seemed to make the right play. I don’t foresee him having too many issues adjusting to the longer three-point line.

26. Andre Drummond, Pistons
Drummond started his week in Orlando slowly, getting shoved around inside by O’Quinn in a game against the Magic, but he came on nicely by the end of the week. Given how raw he is, the types of performances he put up in games against the Thunder and Celtics were very encouraging. Drummond altered plenty of shots in the Celtics game in particular and did a really nice job holding Sullinger down. He still has a long way to go, but the Pistons have to be happy he at least showed some flashes.

46. Khris Middleton, Pistons
Take away his 5-5 performance against the Celtics, and he shot 7-26 from the field and 2-11 from three-point range. Not good for someone known for his shooting.
