Unhappy: Eto'o is said to have refused to train as he looks to force his exit from Anzhi.
Samuel Eto'o wants to quit Anzhi Makhachkala and join Qatari-owned Paris Saint-Germain this summer, Sport360° understands.
Eto'o, 31, became the world's highest paid player, on a reported €320,000-a-week salary, when he joined cash-rich Anzhi in a shock transfer from Inter Milan last summer.
But despite ending a barren spell in front of goal in Anzhi's 3-0 win over Spartak Moscow at the weekend, taking his tally to nine goals in 18 games for the club, Eto'o is said to want out of civil war-torn Dagestan.
A source close to the player claims the Cameroon striker has already agreed terms over a summer move to PSG, who must now find an accord with Anzhi if they are to make Eto'o one of a number of marquee signings expected this close season.
The Parisians have been linked with a host of strikers in recent days including Liverpool's Luis Suarez and Manchester City's Edin Dzeko, while Ancelotti confirmed AC Milan star Alexandre Pato, who previously turned down a move to the club, remains on his wanted list.
Carlos Tevez's agent, Kia Joorabchian, who dealt with the club during their unsuccessful negotiations to sign the Argentine in January,hinted this week that the club are in the market for a genuine world class talent as they look to establish themselves amongst Europe's elite
And Eto'o certain fits the bill having starred for both Barcelona, with whom he scored 130 goals in just 200 appearances, and Internazionale where he won an unprecedented treble under Jose Mourinho in 2010.
"Paris will have opportunities to sign a big name, one that is amongst the greatest European players," Joorabchian was quoted as saying.
Eto'o is said to be excited at the prospect of spearheading PSG's quest for honours next season as they prepare for a return to Europe's premier club competition, a tournament close to the Cameroonian's heart having won it thrice before. With Barca (2006 and 2009) and Inter (2010).
Canal +, former owners of PSG, quoted Eto'o recently saying that the club's sporting director Leonardo, whom he worked with at Inter, could "call him anytime he wants" as rumours resurfaced of him joining the Qatari revolution at the Parc des Princes.
Should a move come to fruition for Eto'o, as is being claimed, it would represent a stunning U-turn for the player who admitted to Sport360° just three months ago on Anzhi's winter break in Dubai that he wanted to see out the rest of his career in Russia.
"My goal is to finish my career with Anzhi, but in football you never know," he said. "We have a big project here and if everything goes well I will stay. I think I can play on until I'm 36-years-old."
He added: "Some people are saying I'm not happy with Anzhi, but they're wrong, it's not true.," said Eto'o. "I love this club. My goal is to improve the level of the club, and to qualify for the Champions League."
Anzhi, who appointed Guus Hiddink as boss earlier this year, currently sit outside the European places in the Russian Premier League in sixth place, two points adrift of fifth-placed Lokomotiv Moscow and 18 behind runaway leaders Zenit St Petersburg.
