- Lot's of these things haven't come from Dwight. Dwight has always been interested in LA. He doesn't want to go to a place where he's not minimized. He's 3x defensive player of the year in ORL and doesn't want to be a minimized player in LA. But winning culture of LA makes it ok for Dwight.
-He doesn't want to be in Houston long term. Respects McHale and the Rockets but wants to win. The Lakers have always been involved. Always had an offer on the table. They were prepared to offer as the initial offer Bynum/MWP for Dwight if Dwight signed an extension. But Dwight was told it was close with Brooklyn. He's wondering if they were going to trade him or if they're trying to make Dwight look bad in the media.
-Problem with direct LA deal: Bynum won't sign extension. Doesn't mean he won't resign with Orlando but Bynum wants to explore FA. But Magic don't want that. LA has made themselves known to wanting Dwight and have been aggressive.
-3 team trade with CLE: Orlando would get back Varajeo and draft picks. Orlando's trying to get rid of bad contracts. Dwight's frustrated because Brooklyn was offering several draft picks and was willing to take bad contracts, so if they didn't deal with Brooklyn why would they deal with Cleveland and LA. Still wondering if they really want to trade him. JRich and Duhon must be involved as well because of their bad contracts.
-Houston can't do anything until Asik is resolved. This is where Cleveland comes in with the opportunity to be the third team, because the Asik situation will take until next weekend to be resolved.
-The onus is on the Magic. Dwight has been vilified. Hasn't handled everything well but reactions are to broken promises he's had to deal with. Dwight declined to comment because he doesn't want to be a part of the leaks.
-If the Magic don't take this deal then their intentions are clear, they don't really want to move him and instead are letting his image take a massive hit. There have been constant negotiations with LA. If they're going to move him they'll move him. If they're not going to move him we'll see what their intentions are. Because everyone else (LA, Dwight, Bynum, and Cleveland) are all ready to go. So the onus is on the Magic. |
