Les C's n'avaient vraiment pas le droit de perdre ce game.
Ben Gordon nous a tué dans le 4eme QT.
Le plus rageant c'est que pendant les trois premiers QT les C's ont montré de très bonnes choses :
- Rondo en mode GTR. Il nous a tout fait, des grigris à la Rondo, des missiles alley oops, des tear drops, des runners, des jumpshots, du jeu poste bas et même un trey from the baseline.
- Connexion Rondo ---> Wilcox
- Wilcox mérite d'être aligné aux côtés de KG
- JJJ mérite + de temps de jeu, il a une marge de progression in the paint à exploiter au plus vite !
Ce qui est moche en revanche c'est de voir Ray et Captain complètement éteints le game où on a absolument besoin d'eux.
JO ne revenait pas en forme, c'était plus une "sécurité dans la raquette" qu'autre chose. En fin de compte 22 minutes pour 2 blocks, 1 pt, 5 pf. Super...
Et maintenant on peut voir que Stiemsma est rouillé, génial. Il est resté de nombreux games sans bouger du banc, alors forcément faut pas s'attendre à un miracle quand on a besoin de lui.
L'accumulation de mauvaises notes commence à nous coûter très très cher.
Evidemment, cette défaite ne condamne toujours rien (à part les critiques des fans et les idées de trade des journalistes). C'est juste une tâche de gros rouge de plus.
On peut même espérer un game de prestige à Chicago tonight. Sans dec. Ils en sont capables.
On en revient donc toujours au même : les C's sont leur propre ennemi... |

C'est quand même ce qui se fait de plus rares les intérieurs dominants (du coup, ça devrait être plus facile de dominer... comprends pas ).
Non mais clairement, il manque quelqu'un inside. Pas seulement sur ce match évidemment, mais quelques points, quelques rebonds. Histoire de libérer un brin nos shoots extés aussi. |

Wilcox est bien plus convaincant que lors de son passage a Detroit, mais c'est pas non plus un scoreur de folie. Les absences de KG+Bass vont faire mal au scoring dans la peinture... Heureusement que c'est Detroit en face (qui plus est en B2B)
Mais jeudi c'est Chicago : avec Boston en B2B, Chicago a la maison, revanchard, avec Rose cette fois ci (je suppose). Du coup si on a toujours le même secteur intérieur jeudi, autant aller bruler un cierge des maintenant pour une victoire. |

Boston est l'équipe (avec Philly) qui a joué le plus de matchs a domicile depuis le début de la saison avec 18 matchs @Home... Dans un même temps Chicago, Indiana et OKC n'en ont joué que 10.
Boston n'a pas super bien voyagé jusque là : (4-5) , du coup va falloir s'accrocher en seconde partie de saison. |

Trader Rondo est de la folie pure, je le dis pas par rapport à hier ça fait 6 mois que je le dis. Jamais on aura un franchise player de sa trempe en échange parce qu'il soulève trop de questions (peut il réussir sans le big 3 ? est ce que c'est vraiment une tête de con ?) pour récupérer un membre régulier des all nba team de moins de 28 piges, ce qu'il vaut sans soucis pour moi. Il a été testé avec réussite au plus haut niveau qui soit et il a du sang vert dans ses veines. C'est non, non et re-non ! Le gros problème est sa régularité (et c'est un ENORME problème on est d'accord), mais au top de sa forme il démonte tous les meneurs de la planète, CP3, Rose et Deron compris. Parce que défense et parce que emprise sur le jeu sans commune mesure (seul Chris Paul tient la comparaison à ce niveau là).
Voilà c'était ma minute groupie qui va faire hurler mais je le pense vraiment |

Bon y'avait du monde ici dis donc pour voir cette belle W des C's. Ils ont fait ce qu'il fallait pour s'affirmer aux yeux du forum en tout cas.
D'ici le All Star break, on reçoit les Pistons à la maison puis des déplacements délicats à Chicago, Detroit, Dallas et Oklahoma. Pas de répit pour les C's. |

Brandon Bass (inflammation genou depuis le game contre NYC) va être absent entre 10 et 14 jours.
C'est sans doute aussi pour ça qu'il avait beaucoup plus de mal ces derniers games.
Et ça signifie du temps de jeu pour Wilcox et JaJuan Johnson. Un mal pour un bien ? C'est fort possible !
On a besoin que JJJ gagne en expérience au niveau NBA et jusque là il montre vraiment de belles choses. Donc tous les games où il pourra suppléer Bass seront bons à prendre !
Quant à Wilcox, il est full of energy et son association avec Rondo et Pierce fonctionne vraiment bien. |

Rondo Is A Square Peg Thriving In A Round Hole (Usually)

Rajon Rondo is not your average point guard. This much is a given. In fact, that might be the only definitive thing I can say about him at this point.
- He's a great passer but he sometimes looks to pass to a fault.
- He can be an elite defender but he gambles too much.
- He's a poor shooter but he'll still take a shot from time to time.
- He's incredibly bright by all accounts, but also terribly stubborn.
- He has a stoic face but you can see the fire in him.
- He's utterly fearless and plays through pain, yet he sometimes slacks off and may have too thin of a skin for his own good.
To me, these are the reasons why Rondo is becoming the most polarizing player for fans. He's either totally mesmerizing or completely infuriating, sometimes in the same game.
If, like me, you focus on the positives, you'll see a 2 time All Star pass-first point guard with triple double potential who has proven that he can take his game to the highest levels when it matters most.
On the other hand, if you choose to focus on the negative, you'll see an inconsistent, moody, potentially fatally flawed enigma of a player that may not be worth building around. Neither opinion is wrong or right, they are opinions.
Here's the thing that keeps me coming back for more and makes me want to sign up for at least a few more years of Rondo after this year. He's never been in a situation at the pro level tailor made to accentuate his talents. Sure, as a pass first guy he's blessed with 3 Hall of Famers to pass to, but they do almost all their work in the half court. As you may have heard, Rondo's lack of jumper creates a sagging defense that dares him to shoot at the expense of other guys getting open.
Rondo needs to run but he doesn't have the horses to gallop with. He's a young black stallion that has grown up hitched to a team of clydesdales. He gets the job done, but you get the feeling that if he was ever unbridled he'd be something incredible to behold.
I'm not saying that we need to blow this thing up now. But when the season is over, I'd like Danny to think long and hard about bringing in some runners and gunners (who are willing to play a little defense as well). Imagine an athletic big man pulling down a board, outlletting to Rondo, who pushes the ball down the defenses throat and leaves the ball off for one of two streaking wing players who finishes with a flush. Or perhaps the next time down he draws the defenders to himself but kicks it out beyond the arc for an open look at the 3. This happens in dribs and drabs with this group (see the back to back alley-oops to JJJ and Wilcox), but not often enough to utilize Rondo's talent.
He'll need to be surrounded by shooters that can get open without having the ball in their hands (a reason to keep Ray Allen around for as long as is fiscally possible). He'll also need some bigs to bang and board down low. Imagine a Varejao type roaming the paint, gobbling up missed Rondo jumpers and putting them back for scores. It would be like a modified assist.
It wouldn't be easy, but it could certainly be done. Danny would have to stop dangling Rondo in trades and start making a concerted effort to build around the guy. That might mean taking a pass on the "best player available" in free agency or the draft if that guy was a bad fit.
Of course you could determine that it isn't worth building a whole team around one enigmatic player. Maybe it would be easier with a "normal" point guard and a more traditional offense. But what would be the fun in that? Personally I'm all in on Rondo. I want to see him retire a Celtic if possible. On the other hand, I get it if you have reservations and wouldn't mind "selling high" on him right now. He's just a different kind of guy and he's not for everyone.
Still, I would argue that his uniqueness is what makes him so special. You don't get rid of a Monet because it doesn't match your furniture. You buy new furniture and look to add more Monets to compliment it. At least that's what I'd do if I were a filthy rich art collector. Danny's going to have a lot of money to spend this summer. Here's hoping that he spends it like a filthy rich art collector.

You could tell that Rondo was dominating the game yesterday, but it wasn't till the end that I realized that he was having one of those special statistical days. It is one thing to have a triple double (impressive in its own right) but another thing to do it with numbers like this. He finished with 32 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds. Wow. Here are some additional stats to put it into perspective.

Paul Pierce is a scorer. One of the best ever to wear a Celtics uniform. Today he only finished with 9 points. So you might be tempted to say that he didn't play well. Not so fast.

But that doesn't mean he didn't have an impact. Pierce played solid defense and was tied for a game-high with four steals, and he also made a few clutch baskets down the stretch, as he continued to display that he can contribute in other ways in the Celtics' 95-91 win over the Bulls at TD Garden. Pierce's biggest impact came on the defensive end, where he virtually shut down Luol Deng (10 points, five rebounds in 42:43), who is making his first All-Star appearance this year. In the last meeting with the Celtics, Deng dominated Pierce and company, putting up 21 points while grabbing 16 rebounds in a Bulls win at TD Garden. "You've really got to focus in on him," Pierce said. "He's an All-Star this year, and you know with Derrick Rose being out, I really just wanted to make a conscious effort of just slowing him down, doing what I can to keep a body on him, keeping him off the offensive rebounds. Just for the most part, you have to slow him down with the lineup they have out there, you give yourself a great chance of winning tonight."

1er depuis Avril 87 en fait. Un splendide 30/17/15 face aux Bullets de Washington, match qui était d'ailleurs trouvable sur youtube il y a quelques temps.
A noter que c'était le 15eme 3D de la carrière de Rondo. Il est à la 2eme place du classement du plus grand nombre de 3D de l'histoire de la franchise (comptabilisé depuis la saison 79-80), devant Antoine Walker (13).
A 25 balais il a encore de la marge, impressionnant. Mais bon courage pour rattraper Larry Legend qui en compte 69... |

It Sure Helps Rondo when the team actually pushes the pace
Rondo is built for a fast-paced team. When Boston plays mixed lineups and push the tempo he becomes a scoring threat and it carries over into his half-court execution.
When Boston slows it down – like they do every game in the last 5-6 minutes of the 4th quarter – the team’s offensive efficiency plummets and Rondo becomes invisible.
This team is extremely limited offensively. When they don’t run they are a bottom 5 offense in the league and Rondo is a fraction of himself offensively.
When the team runs, it changes the complexion of the game….its that simple…

Europsort on enfin changé leur brève :
Malgré les 16 points (6 sur 10 aux tirs) et 9 rebonds de Joakim Noah, Chicago a chuté sur le parquet de Boston (95-91). Alors que les Bulls étaient privés de Derrick Rose (dos), Rajon Rondo a régalé Boston avec un triple double (32 points à 11 sur 22 aux tirs, 10 rebonds et 11 passes).
Mike Pietrus a été discret avec 3 points et 3 rebonds en 18 minutes. Kevin Garnett a signé un double-double (13 pts, 12 rbds).
